My First Stripe Payout Is Taking a Long Time (Coach)

Why your first Stripe payout takes longer to arrive and what to do if it has been more than 14 days.

Updated today

It is normal for your first Stripe payout to take longer than expected. This is a standard part of how Stripe works for all new accounts, not a problem with your FITR setup.

πŸ“‹ When to use this

  • You have received your first client payment but it has not arrived in your bank yet

  • You want to understand why the first payout takes longer

⏱ Why first payouts take longer

Stripe holds the first payout for 7 to 14 days after your first successful client payment. This happens because Stripe performs initial verification checks on all new accounts before releasing funds. The exact timing can vary depending on your country and account type.

After your first payout, subsequent payouts follow your regular payout schedule.

πŸ”§ Troubleshooting and FAQs

It has been more than 14 days and my first payout still has not arrived

  • Fix: Log in to your Stripe account and check your payout status. Look for any pending verification requests or identity checks that need completing. If everything looks clear in Stripe, contact FITR Support.

Can I change my payout schedule after the first payout?

  • Yes - if your account was created after 1 February 2022, you can adjust your payout frequency directly in your Stripe dashboard settings.
