How to add a free trial period to a subscription program on FITR, how trials work for clients, and how to track who is currently in trial.

Adding a free trial to your subscription program lets new clients experience your content before committing to a paid subscription. FITR handles the billing automatically once the trial period ends.

  • You want to offer new clients a try-before-you-buy experience

  • You are setting up a new subscription program and want to include a trial period


⚠️ Before you start

  • Free trials are only available on subscription-based programs - they cannot be applied to Fixed Length programs

  • You must be connected to Stripe before you can enable trials

  • If you use a trial alongside a launch date, trials only apply to clients who sign up after the launch date


πŸ–₯ How to set up a free trial

  1. When setting your program price, look for the trial option at the bottom of the pricing pop-up

  2. Select your preferred trial duration from the available options

  3. Click Set Price - the trial period will now be shown on your program's summary page

  4. Complete the remaining steps to publish your program


βš™οΈ How trials work for clients

  • Clients can cancel during the trial and will not be charged

  • If they do not cancel, they are automatically moved onto a paying subscription when the trial ends

  • The first charge covers a full billing period - it does not pro-rate the trial

  • Clients on trial cannot see training beyond their remaining trial days - full access begins when their first payment goes through

You can see who is currently on trial and how many days they have left:

  • In the client listing of each program

  • In the main Clients list using the In-Trial filter
