Creating a program is the starting point for everything you do on FITR. Before you click Create, there is one decision you need to make first, and it matters more than anything else at this stage: which program type are you creating?
The program type determines how your clients experience the training, how you write content, and what features are available to you. It also cannot be changed after creation. So before you build anything, read the Choose the Right Program Type article if you have not already.
📋 When to use this
You are setting up your first program on FITR
You want to add a new program to your coaching library
⚠️ Before you start
Choose your program type first — 1-2-1, Fixed Length, Session 1 Day 1, or Group Rolling Calendar. You cannot change this after creation
If you plan to charge clients, connect Stripe before publishing
Have your program name, description, pricing, and welcome message ready
🖥 Setup flow: 1-2-1 programs
Order: Create → Invite → Write
1-2-1 is different from all other types. FITR needs a client in the system before it can create their individual calendar. So you create the program and invite clients first — only then can you write their training. The exception is Manual Invite, which lets you add a client as Pending and start writing their calendar before they formally accept.
Go to Programs and click Create a Program
Select 1-2-1 as the program type
Fill in name, price, description, welcome message, and any waiver
Publish the program
Invite clients — use Manual Invite if you want to write content before they sign up
Open each client's individual calendar and write their training
You only need one 1-2-1 program per price point. All your personal coaching clients sit inside it — each with their own completely separate, private calendar.
🖥 Setup flow: Fixed Length, Session 1 Day 1, and Group Rolling Calendar
Order: Create → Write → Invite
For all three group-based types, you build the content first, then invite clients. All clients on these programs see the same training — any changes you make affect everyone.
Go to Programs and click Create a Program
Select your program type
Fill in name, price, description, welcome message, and any waiver
Save or publish the program
Open the program schedule and start writing training content
When your content is ready, publish and share the link with clients
For Fixed Length: Write the entire program before publishing. Clients see all content from day one, so you want it complete.
For Session 1 Day 1: Write at least 4 weeks before your first client joins, then keep adding weekly. You must stay ahead of your furthest-along client at all times.
For Group Rolling Calendar: Write ahead of today's date. Clients see from when they join, so content needs to exist from today forward.

🔧 Troubleshooting and FAQs
I selected the wrong program type
You cannot convert a program to a different type. Create a new program of the correct type, save your existing content as a template, and apply it to the new program. Contact Support if you need help.
Clients cannot sign up after I published
Check: (1) You are connected to Stripe if the program has a price. (2) The program is Published, not saved as Draft. (3) Storefront visibility is on if you want clients to find it publicly. (4) You have shared the correct program link with clients.
I cannot see a program I just created
Check your Programs list and look for Draft status. If you saved without publishing, it will appear there but will not be visible to clients yet.
