FITR coach and client accounts are completely separate and cannot share the same email address. But you do not need a different email entirely, you can create a second account using a + alias, which means everything still arrives in your normal inbox.
This article also covers what to do if you are already stuck because your email is registered as the wrong account type.
📋 When to use this
You are a coach who wants to follow a training program as a client
You are a client who wants to start coaching on FITR
A coach cannot invite you because your email is already registered as a coach account
You want to test what your clients experience in the FITR app
⚙️ How the + alias works
Most email providers support + aliases. Adding anything after a + symbol before the @ creates a variant that FITR treats as a completely different email address, but all emails land in your normal inbox.
Example: If your email is [email protected], you can sign up with [email protected] for your coach account and [email protected] for your client account. All FITR emails for both accounts arrive in the same Gmail inbox. Simple.
🖥 How to create your second account
Log out of your current FITR account completely
Select the account type you need — coach or client
When prompted for your email, use your alias — e.g.
[email protected]Complete sign-up. All FITR emails for this account will arrive in your normal inbox
🔧 Common situations and fixes
A coach cannot invite me — they say my email is already registered
Your email is already on FITR as a coach account. Create a client account using a + alias (e.g.
[email protected]) and give that new email to your coach to use for the invite. The invite will then work.
I am a coach trying to experience FITR as a client to test my programs
Create a client account using a + alias. Then subscribe to your own program using that alias email. You will see exactly what your clients see, including your branding, program layout, and the onboarding experience.
My + alias is not being accepted
Make sure the + symbol is before the @ sign:
[email protected]is correct;[email protected]+anythingis not. If your provider does not support aliases, you will need a separate email address.
Can I switch between coach and client without logging out?
Not currently, as you need to log out of one account and into the other. The Coach App and Client App are also separate downloads, so you will need both installed on your device.
