Zapier - Add Conditions to Zaps With Filters (Coach)

How to add conditions to Zapier Zaps using Filters, making Zaps run only when data meets specific criteria such as a particular program name or value.

Filters let you add conditions to a Zap so it only runs when the data meets specific criteria. For example, you can trigger an action only when a client purchases a specific program, and do nothing for other programs.

πŸ–₯ How to add a Filter step

  1. In the Zap editor, click the + icon to add a step after your trigger

  2. Search for and select Filter

  3. Click Continue

πŸ–₯ Set your filter rules

In the Filter Setup section, choose the field to check, the rule to apply (e.g. "contains", "equals"), and the value to compare against. Click Continue when done.

You can combine multiple rules using AND or OR logic. Note that filter rules are type-specific text rules only work on text fields, number rules only on number fields.

πŸ–₯ Test your filter

Run a test. If the sample data passes the filter you will see a green confirmation. If it does not pass you will see a grey message. Any Zap steps after the Filter only run when the data meets the condition.
