Edit or Create a New Exercise in Sets and Reps (Coach)

How to create or edit a custom exercise in FITR's Sets and Reps — naming, metric categories, muscle groups, equipment, and video attachments.

You can create or edit custom exercises from within the program builder or from the Exercises library. Custom exercises are available on the PRO Plan — Free Plan coaches can view but cannot create, edit, or delete exercises.


🖥 Two ways to create a new exercise

While programming: Search for an exercise. If no results are found, the option to Create new exercise will appear.

From the Exercises library: Go to Programming > Exercises and click Create New Exercise.


⚙️ What to fill in when creating an exercise

  • Name — what the exercise will be called in searches

  • Metric Category — Strength (defaults to Reps, Weight, Rest) or Cardio (defaults to Time, Rest)

  • Muscle groups — select the major muscles worked

  • Equipment — choose from the equipment list

  • Video — optional, upload a video to demonstrate the movement

Weight fields can be left blank for clients to fill in themselves during the session.


🖥 How to edit an existing exercise

  1. Go to Programming > Exercises

  2. Search for the exercise

  3. Click Edit and make your changes

Changes to an exercise name or video update everywhere that exercise is used in your programs.
