Fixed Length Programs (Coach)

A full guide to Fixed Length programs, and how clients see all content upfront, set their own start dates, can restart after finishing, and when to use this type vs a subscription program.

Updated today

Fixed Length programs are for coaches who want to deliver a structured course with a defined beginning and end β€” a set number of weeks, a specific goal, and a clear outcome. Think 12-week marathon plan, 8-week skill program, or a 4-week introduction to strength training.

Unlike subscription programs, Fixed Length programs are typically a one-off purchase. Clients get access to everything upfront, set their own start date, and work through the content at their own pace. Once they finish, they can restart or reuse the program as many times as they want from their archived list.

πŸ“‹ When to use a Fixed Length program

  • You have a structured course with a defined number of weeks and a clear goal

  • You want clients to see all the content upfront β€” some clients find this motivating and useful for planning

  • You want to sell a one-off product rather than a recurring subscription

  • You want to use a free program as a lead magnet, taster, or giveaway

  • You want to create a benchmark testing or assessment protocol that clients can revisit

βš™οΈ How Fixed Length programs actually work

All content is visible from day one

When a client purchases or downloads a Fixed Length program, they can immediately see the entire schedule β€” every session, every week, from start to finish. There is no content drip, no unlock sequence, no 7-day visibility window. Everything is there from the moment they join.

This is a deliberate feature. For a race-prep plan or a skill program, clients often want to see the full arc of the training before they commit. They can look ahead, understand the structure, and plan around the tougher weeks.

Each client sets their own start date

There is no shared calendar. Client A might start the 12-week plan on 1 March because their race is in June. Client B might start the same plan on 1 August for an October event. Both are on the same program, both see the same content β€” but each is running through it on their own timeline.

Clients can restart or reschedule

After completing a Fixed Length program, clients can restart it from Week 1 at any time from their archived programs. This makes Fixed Length programs great for benchmark testing or seasonal blocks that coaches want to repeat β€” clients can run the same program multiple times and track improvements.

Changes you make affect all clients

If you edit a session, all clients on the program β€” whether they have already completed it or are mid-way through β€” will see the updated version. Changes are live immediately.

πŸ–₯ Setting up a Fixed Length program

The setup order is: Create β†’ Write β†’ Invite

Build all your content before you open the program to clients. Since clients can see everything from day one, you want the full program to be ready before anyone joins.

  1. Go to Programs and click Create a Program

  2. Select Fixed Length as the program type

  3. Set the program name, number of weeks, price (or Β£0 for free), description, and welcome message

  4. Write all your training content before publishing

  5. Publish the program and share the link with clients

πŸ’‘ Real-world examples

  • 12-week marathon training plan: You write 12 weeks of run training. You sell it as a one-off purchase at Β£40. Each client sets their own start date based on when their race is. Some start in January for a spring race; others buy in May for an autumn event. They all get the same plan but on their own timeline.

  • 8-week muscle-building program: You create a structured 8-week program with a progressive overload model. Clients can see all 8 weeks from day one, which many find motivating β€” they can see exactly what they are working toward and plan their life around the tougher weeks.

  • Free 2-week taster program: You set the price to Β£0 and share the link as a lead magnet. Potential clients experience your coaching quality and programming style. A percentage will then subscribe to your ongoing paid program.

  • Quarterly benchmark testing protocol: You create a single-week assessment program β€” squat max, row test, body composition benchmarks. Coaches run it every quarter. Clients can restart it from their archived list and compare results across sessions.

πŸ”§ Troubleshooting and FAQs

A client wants to restart the program after finishing

  • Clients can restart at any time from My Programs > Past in the app. They select the program and set a new start date. No action needed from you.

I edited a session but a client says they can see the old version

  • Fixed Length edits are live immediately β€” ask the client to pull-to-refresh or close and reopen the app. If it still shows the old version, ask them to log out and back in.

Can I add a subscription option to a Fixed Length program?

  • No, Fixed Length programs are one-off purchases, not subscriptions. If you want a subscription product, use Session 1 Day 1 or Group Rolling Calendar instead.

Can I add a free trial to a Fixed Length program?

  • No, free trials are only available on subscription program types (Session 1 Day 1 and Group Rolling Calendar).
