The Short Answer
It isn’t possible to convert a free program directly into a paid one, but there’s an easy workaround.
Why This Isn’t Possible
Free programs are managed outside of Stripe, which allows them to be offered at no cost. Paid programs, on the other hand, are fully integrated with Stripe so you can charge clients and manage payments. Because of this difference, free programs cannot be switched to paid programs.
What You Can Do Instead
You can clone your free program and turn the copy into a paid one. Please note, cloning programs is only available on a Professional plan.
To clone your program:
Go to your main program list
Click the ⋯ (more) menu next to the free program
Select Clone
This creates a draft copy of your program.
For Fixed Length or Session 1 Day 1 programs, all existing programming will be copied across automatically, allowing you to set a price straight away.
For Group Rolling Calendar or Custom programs, the programming won’t copy automatically, but you can bring it across easily using templates. This guide will help you do that.
Moving Clients to the Paid Program
Any clients you’d like to charge will need to subscribe to the new paid program.
If the original program is subscription-based, you can cancel client subscriptions on their behalf.
Once clients are removed from the old program, you can archive it to keep your program list tidy.
